Welcome! So glad you found your way to The Victorian Lady. Let me introduce myself. My name is Barbara Hadley and I am the proud proprietor of The Victorian Lady gift shop, which I established over 10 years ago.

Many customers have asked me what brought me to Narragansett, RI from a small country town in Connecticut. Well, it has always been an ambition of mine to own both a Bed & Breakfast and a gift shop.

When I first visited Narragansett, I knew I had found exactly what I had been seeking. Within sight of sweeping ocean views, the area is a favorite visiting spot for tourists. After purchasing an old Victorian house, I then opened my shop in a nearby area of specialty stores called The Pier Marketplace.

In keeping with my love of anything Victorian, I named my shop The Victorian Lady and decided to specialize in merchandise that is reminiscent of an era gone by. My shop features many unique items that often bring a fond nostalgia to my many customers when they are looking for a picture, a quilt, an aromatic candle or some other gift item representative of the warmth and charm of yesteryear.

One of the wonderful bonuses of being a shopkeeper is the opportunity I get to meet a lot of interesting people. Because many of them return again and again, some now seem more like old friends. My customers' continued enthusiasm for the selection of gift items I feature at The Victorian Lady has been very rewarding to me personally.
